Meet the Team: Patrick Flynn

It didn’t take long for Asheville, NC, native Patrick Flynn to realize he was interested in a car wash industry career. He began working for a national car wash chain while earning his BS degree in Business Management at UNC-Asheville, quickly advancing to become a crew leader. That same car wash chain hired him upon graduation in 2015 as an employee recruiter for its western North Carolina and Georgia markets, where Flynn excelled in establishing and maintaining counselor and job placement personnel contacts at high school and college campuses throughout his territory to recruit the finest team members possible. He was sometimes even involved in the employee interview process.

Then in March 2019, Howco came calling, hiring Flynn to represent the company in car wash chemical sales for its customers in western North Carolina, South Carolina, and a section of Virginia.  Flynn’s product knowledge, energy, and reputation for customer service soon landed him an expanded territory encompassing the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

“I love what I do, and it excites me to help our customers wash cars better and save money in the process,” said Flynn, 29. “The ongoing technology and advancement in the chemical products we represent require us to stay on top of the improvements and knowledgeably relay that information to our customers. It’s really gratifying, especially when we present a chemical package to a new customer, they test it, and are so impressed and satisfied that they add the package throughout their system, which recently happened with a Florida-based car wash chain.”

Howco’s chemical line features premium products from Ver-tech Labs, Turtle Wax, and ZEP brands, which include Blue Coral®, Rain-X®, and Armor All Professional®.

“It’s fascinating to learn the intricacies of our lines and monitor their development, then put that knowledge to use creating the perfect car wash chemical package for each customer,” Flynn continued. “My interest lends itself to quick learning, and I enjoy interacting with other Howco team members about chemicals and equipment. Some have been great mentors to me during my introduction into the company and supply side of the business.”

Flynn resides in Huntersville, NC, near Howco’s home office and main warehouse in Charlotte.  His free time is spent honing his musical skills on guitar, bass, and drums.
